Kept by clerks of the Exchequer, these rolls reflect the day-to-day activities of the government.

Abstract: E 159/37-46. 1262 Mich-1272 Trin, 55/56 Henry III--E 159/47-50. 1272 Mich-1276 Trin, 3/4 Edward I. This series consists of rolls recording memoranda made in the Exchequer. Each roll covers a year, consisting of four terms, and is divided into different sections. The contents of the two parallel series, one kept by the King's Remembrancer and the other by the Lord Treasurer's Remembrancer, reflect the differing functions of the two offices, which were defined by the Exchequer ordinances of 1323.
